In the beginning there were two. Two people who seemed so mismatched but who prided themselves on how they complimented each other. Her weaknesses were his strengths, his difficulties were her aptitudes. They fell in love fast and hard, but had a love that was practical and sustaining.
Sure, they argued, mostly about chores and how much he worked, or about how she lost patience with those things. But most days were spent raising kids, keeping house, and finding some fun here and there. They moved three times for his school/career. They started their kids in school. They traveled to be with family on holidays, and vacationed when they could. It was a simple rhythm of life.
And so they lived for almost 10 years.
